1/17/2025 - Comp Splatoon Adventures

I started competitive Splatoon back in October, and it's been one of the best experiences I've ever. The people that I've met in the scene are all so kind, and despite some problems it has, keeping to the small corners tand curating my space, I haven't had many problems. I've seen myself improve in terms of mechanics a lot, although I still have a long way to go before I get to being the player that I want to be.

For now, I'm captain of Ocean's Edge. We have a pretty standard meta comp, but we do like to experiment a lot. Our most recent tournament was Setting Sail #1 back in December, and we ended up with second place bronze bracket, after an upset against the 4th seeded team. I'm on hiatus for the month due to IRL work that I need to focus on, so I don't have any tournaments planned until February. It's unfortunate, and frustrating, but I need to focus on the stuff that I have going on.

Regardless, my weapon pool hasn't changed from when I started playing back in Splatoon 2, though I have added Dapple Dualies Nouveau into the mix. My official weapon pool is: Dark Tetra Dualies, Order Dualies, and Dapple Dualies Nouveau. I have both wiper kits and both wellstring kits in my back pocket purely for fun, though if I ever join another team that requires those weapons, then I could probably play them with some more training.

I do have a few goals for the new year when it comes to competitive splatoon. My main one is at least one podium result (top 4). I also want to 5-star my three dualie weapons. I'm at halfway for all of them, so I'm very close. There's more, but those are two big ones. Getting an official LUTI div would be wonderful, but I don't think my team would be able to participate in LUTI this year, due to our conflicting schedules. We already struggle to get practices and tournaments in.
